Author(s)/Inventor(s): Gaston Bignon, Pablo

Abstract: Isoparametric finite elements are developped from the well known mixed model for plate bending with continuous transversal displacements and moments, according to the theory of Reissner. Special cases of variable surface load, linear distributed load and concentrated loads are analysed. Studies are performed for plates of curved boundaries and for plates with moderately variable finite thickness. A special procedure is reserved for the sandwich plate. Two new models and respective element matrices are presented concerning this problem and the general plare bending problem.
