| Abstract: | O estudo de caso abordado por essa monografia procura analisar o movimento social liderado pelo Padre Cícero Romão Batista, ocorrido na Primeira República no Brasil, período da História também conhecido como República Velha (1889 – 1930). Procuro empregar os recursos de mídia como o cinema, a internet e a mídia impressa, incluída, aí, a historiografia brasileira e a literatura de Cordel, para comparar os “olhares” sobre o Messianismo de Padre Cícero. Este movimento também foi considerado um dos maiores Movimentos Sociais Rurais que marcaram as primeiras décadas da história republicana do país. |
| Abstract: | The case study approached in this monograph aimed to analyze the social movement led by Priest Cícero Romão Batista, that occurred in the First Republic of Brazil, a period of History also called “The Old Republic” (1889-1930). As a procedure, media resources such as cinema, the Internet and print media, as well as Brazilian historiography and Twine Literature have been compared as a means of illustrating different points of view upon Priest Cícero‟s messianism. That movement was also considered one of the greatest rural social movement that marked the first decades in the Brazilian republic history. |
