Abstract: The present research deals with accessibility in university libraries for blind and low-sight users. It uses exploratory bibliographic method with the purpose of gathering concepts on topics related to accessibility, accessible university libraries, visually impaired people and assistive technology. It presents the obstacles found in university libraries and the criteria to improve accessibility in university libraries according to visually impaired college students. It concludes that the need of financial resources does not justify the lack of accessibility, indicating some resources and low-cost or free technologies that may be adapted by libraries, enabling the inclusion of the visually impaired people.
