Abstract: Severe Acute Respiratory Syndromes (SARS) are respiratory infections with a high potential
for morbidity and mortality, especially among children, the elderly, and individuals with
comorbidities. This study aimed to analyze the notification profile of SARS cases in the city
of Rio de Janeiro between 2013 and 2018, in order to support the qualification of
epidemiological surveillance and decision-making in addressing these diseases. This is an
ecological, descriptive, and retrospective time-series study, based on data from the SIVEP
Gripe system, available on the OpenDataSUS platform. A total of 3,695 reported and closed
cases were identified during the period, with a lethality rate of 98.51 per 100,000 inhabitants
and an incidence rate of 6.09 per 100,000 inhabitants in 2016. A shift in seasonality was
observed starting in 2015, with peaks occurring between April and July. Children under five
years old accounted for 69.2% of cases, with a notable proportion of infants under one year
old in 2014 (40.4%) and 2015 (46.1%). The most frequently reported race/color categories
were white (38.4%) and black (35.9%), although 25.1% of records lacked this information.
Regarding education level, 77.2% were classified as “not applicable,” and 15.2% as
“unknown.” The findings underscore the need for continuous efforts to improve data quality
and maintain effective surveillance of respiratory viruses in the municipality, aiming at more
efficient public health prevention and control strategies.

Abstract: Introduction: Congenital syphilis is a preventable condition, provided that gestational
syphilis is diagnosed and treated promptly. Partner adherence to syphilis treatment is an
essential factor in controlling the infection, since continuous transmission between partners
can lead to reinfection of the pregnant woman, compromising the effectiveness of the
treatment. Objective: To analyze the profile of pregnant women with syphilis according to
the record of (non) treatment of the partner notified in the health network of the Municipality of
Rio de Janeiro (MRJ) in the period from 2013 to 2023. Method: This is an observational,
descriptive study, with retrospective data on syphilis cases in pregnant women and
information on the treatment of the sexual partner, notified in the Information System for
Compulsory Notifiable Diseases (SINAN) in the period from January 2013 to December
2023. Results: It was identified that the treatment rate of partners was 35.7%, with a decrease
over the years. Pandemic periods presented the lowest proportions in the registration of
treatment of partners and, in those years, the reasons mentioned related to the partner's refusal
after summons and non-summons that may be related to the pandemic were frequent. Black
women with low levels of education, in addition to being the most frequently diagnosed with
syphilis, are also those with the highest rates of non-treatment of their partners, once again
revealing the vulnerability of this population segment to ensuring their rights to access and
adequate treatment in health care. Conclusion: The findings highlight the need for specific
interventions to improve adherence to treatment by partners and, consequently, the
management of gestational syphilis, especially in younger, black pregnant women with low
levels of education.

Abstract: This study aims to propose an intervention project to assess user satisfaction
regarding the quality of care at the Super Carioca Vaccination Center. This is a cross
sectional study with users over 18 years of age who attended the unit during the
period from August to December 2025. The questionnaire has 12 questions divided
into 4 blocks, namely: Block 1 - Identification; Block 2 - Operating Structure; Block 3 -
Availability of Vaccines and Supplies/ Block 4 - Guidance Received/Technical
Capacity/Confidence/Waiting Time. The absolute and relative frequencies of all
questions will be calculated. The results of the research are expected to assist
management in decision-making regarding the improvement of care at the Super
Carioca Vaccination Center.

Abstract: Worldwide, the reduction of infant mortality is on the public policies schedule for children
and demonstrates a lot about the living conditions and the health assistance in a country. In the
knowledge of the causes of infant death, there is the possibility of planning actions that imply
their prevention. The objective of the study was to analyze the preventable causes of infant
mortality on the period of 2018 to 2023, based on na ecological, descriptive study, with a
quantitative approach to the analysis of epidemiological data on infant mortality available in
the Mortality Information System (MIS) in Brazil and the State of Rio de Janeiro. In the main
results show that in the period studied the group of preventable causes by the Brazilian List of
Causes of Death remained high, passing from absolute values from 23.903 in 2018 to 21.224
in 2023, which is equivalent respectively to the rate of 8,19 per 1000 live births (LB) to 8,4
per 1000 (LB). In the group of ill-defined causes there was a variation in the rate from 0,38
deaths per 1000 (LB) (1.114 deaths) to 0,3 per 1000 (LB) (878 deaths) and for the other
causes (not clearly preventable), the variation in the rate correspond in 2018 to 3,68 deaths per
1000 (LB) (10.848 deaths) to 3,9 per 1000 (LB) (9.915 deaths). Among the preventable
causes, the highest proportion group was related to 1.2.3 adequate care for the newborns
(2.354-22,33% deaths), in your early neonatal component and the diagonostic actions and
adequate treatment (group 1.3) corresponded to 11,51% of the death, with a higher proportion
in the post-neonatal component, in the specific causes related to respiratory infections. The
deaths in children under 1 year of age in the group of preventable causes 1.4 reducible by
adequate actions of health promotions linked to health care actions amount to 1.090 cases,
10,34% of the total deaths occured in the period. In a general way, the prenatal care actions,
that seek quality care and consider the individuality, the vulnerability and other aspects of the
territory in which the woman is inserted are necessary even later integrating into the
evaluation of the postpartum consultation and knowledge of the support network for baby
care. The challenges in facing the infant mortality remain in the search for an intersectoral
action and a health care network.
