Abstract: The concept of accessibility as an element of the interaction between land use and transportation is widely applied in studies of urban mobility. The idea that the accessibility of a place can be measured by the variety and quantity of opportunities available at the destination has led to the creation and adaptation of various indicators. The mode of transport known as ride hailing (RH) has grown in recent years, making it necessary to evaluate its impact on modern society, mainly its interaction with other modes. Therefore, this article presents a method to calculate the accessibility of formal jobs generated by public transportation (PT) and RH, to compare the results. For this purpose, we made adaptations to two indicators commonly used in the literature: the Gini index and the location quotient (LQ). The integrated structure is demonstrated in the context of a case study conducted in four districts of the city of Rio de Janeiro. Using the proposed method, it was found that in regions with greater balance between jobs and resident population and high offer and variety of PT, equal accessibility between HR and PT was achieved with 2.4 passengers, whereas the regions with a greater imbalance between employment and resident population and low supply and variety of public transport, this equal accessibility was achieved with less than 2.4 passengers (traveling together). The results indicate that the RH service has a potential to complement PT in places with a balance between population and employment but it has a substitute potential in places with an imbalance of these variables. of Tourism, Horus Labtrans, the Civil Aviation Secretariat, the World Tourism Organization, among others.

Abstract: This study focuses on the interface between international tourism, megaevents and airport network in the Brazilian context. The general objective unfolds in two aspects of analysis: (1) based on the Theory that supports the Gravitational Models is defined and presented a contribution to the estimates of international tourist flows, stemming from the historic of arrivals by air to Brazilian tourist regions, with the intent to foresee passenger flows to these destinations. The construction and application of the resulting Predictive Gravitational Equation contribute to the advancement of epistemological knowledge about air transport and tourism and to support decision-making regarding the prioritization of projects involving the development of tourist destinations in Brazil, by means of the airport network; (2) it is investigated how a mega-sporting event can influence the relationship between air transport and development of tourist destinations, considering distinct temporalities such as: pre-event, trans-event and post-event. For this purpose, an analysis of the impact of the FIFA Cup 2014 mega-event in Brazil is conducted, and the impact on international tourist flows by air in the states of the host cities is estimated using the Tourist Destination Life Cycle Theory (TALC), enhanced with econometric variable. Both the studies consist of exploratory quantitative research, conducted for the purpose of execute a mathematically and statistically analysis, by using secondary data collected from national and international official bodies - such as the Ministry of Tourism, Horus Labtrans, the Civil Aviation Secretariat, the World Tourism Organization, among others.

Abstract: This work presents solution approaches for the Multi-objective and Multi-level Capacitated Oil Platform Location Problem (MMCOPLP) and for the MultiObjective Support Units Location Problem for Road Traffic Surveys with Multistages (MSULPRTS). For the MMCOPLP, the objective functions aim to minimize drilling, installation and construction costs, maximize the oil production and minimize costs with possible environmental damages. For the MSULPRTS, the objective functions aim to minimize travel costs and minimize the total amount of support units selected. The exact -Constraint method was used to find the Pareto Optimal for both problems. Considering the MMCOPLP, we implemented the NSGA-II evolutionary algorithm, in its original form, as an approximate method and its results were compared against the ones found by the exact method and the ones provided by a GRASP metaheuristic. For the MSULPRTS, we propose three versions of the NSGA-II with specific strategies for the problem, mainly related to the structure of chromosomes and to the crossover and mutation operators. Our results show that these versions provide good solutions for large instances.

Abstract: This thesis measures the causality between regular air transport and economic growth in Brazil and identifies, in the analysis of efficiency of the use of aviation fuel, guiding measures for policy makers and decision makers. The first stage shows the importance of air transport for the country's economic development and the second shows ways to mitigate the need for growth in the sector with the new sustainability scenario that is required for all countries on the Planet. The results confirm the hypothesis that there is a cointegration between air transport and economic growth, however it is a long- and short-term bidirectional causality for domestic and unidirectional long- and short-term economic growth for international air transport. In the second stage, fuel consumption and supply parameters of the domestic scheduled air transport service are considered, where the country's policies may be more effective and where the data are more complete. The opportunities for energy efficiency improvements were made clear by the high idle capacity observed in the use of aircraft on domestic flights. In this scenario, the need was identified to seek more effective policies regarding the use of aircraft transport capacity on domestic flights, especially regarding cargo transportation. The results indicate that one must seek sector sustainability policies that favor efficiency in the use of capacity.
