Women have been and continue to be agents of transformation in the social and political struggles that have molded favelas over time. By telling their stories from this perspective, we gain a richer and more intersectional understanding of the historical events that shaped urban spaces, particularly peripheral spaces. The fundamental role of black women in the construction of favelas stands out, due their active participation in daily urban life and the contribution to the configuration of favela spaces. Recognizing and strengthening the role of these women is essential to approach the history of favelas from a nonhegemonic, elitist and patriarchal perspective. The performance of women in the production of urban favela space is presented in this work as a collective cultural heritage for the locality, fulfilling a crucial role in the formation of identity and the dynamics of appropriation of these localities over time. The methodology aims to describe and analyze the historical-cultural process of consolidation of the Vila Operária favela, reviewing bibliographies on the region and on the themes of gender, race and class linked to urban planning, using documentary references from the City Hall of Duque de Caxias, during the period from 1950 to 1960. The research also seeks to understand the social practices that shaped the local urbanization, through open qualitative interviews with residents and an insurgent mapping focusing on the collective female experience. In this context, due to their characteristics, particularities, and promotion, real estate investment trusts (called Fundos de Investimento Imobiliário – FIIs) have grown in popularity, expanding their economic power and adding complexity to their operational strategies, aiming to attract resources from new investors and broaden their real estate-financial accumulation fronts. During the same period, FIIs have increasingly become part of the strategic portfolio of real estate developers, leading to significant transformations in the capitalist production of housing. This study aims to understand how this process of financialization of daily life has influenced specifically the residential segment of FIIs in terms of their modes of operation, organization, and relationships with real estate agents. Using data primarily provided by the Comissão de Valores Mobiliários (CVM) about the real estate fund industry from 2017 to 2023, we identified a strong proportional growth of the residential segment of FIIs and transformations in their operational and organizational structures, particularly aimed at attracting small investors' capital.On one hand, there is an intensification of these funds as real estate developers due to their increasing economic power. On the other hand, we observe the use of FIIs as part of new strategies by established real estate developers to execute their accumulation processes, particularly within the residential rental segment. The financial relevance and the rapid growth of this segment in recent years, as well as the way it has unfolded, lead us to conclude that such expansion was only possible due to this specific dimension of financialization – namely, the financialization of daily life. This study proposes a pedagogical intervention in the Parque da Mata Atlântica Frei Vellozo (PMAFV) aimed at mitigating these consequences. So, this model proposes a pedagogical intervention in PMAFV, with the aim of proposing actions that can target such consequences. An in-depth qualitative study examined botanical identification, landscape ecology, sustainability, and environmental education in the Atlantic Forest. The primary objectives include promoting botanical knowledge for ecological landscape planning, developing actions to reduce anthropogenic impacts on the ecosystem, fostering environmental education in the Atlantic Forest region-currently Brazil's most threatened biome-and exploring the need for preserving fauna and flora using native species in possible interventions, both urban and rural. The research articulates multiple layers of territorial information — such as watercourses, land use and occupation, remnant vegetation, urban infrastructure, and demographic data — organized through a hexagonal grid system, allowing for a precise and comparable analytical reading of the territory. The study also incorporates historical and geospatial surveys that reconstruct the original configuration of the region’s watercourses, using sources such as old topographic maps from the Captaincy of Rio de Janeiro to highlight the transformations caused by successive, often silent interventions that profoundly altered the river’s path and, consequently, the local ecological and urban dynamics. This methodological approach seeks to integrate the main agents shaping the landscape: the residents, whose local knowledge and everyday practices represent transformative potential in the reconfiguration of urban space; the river itself, understood not merely as a hydrological resource but as a structuring and conciliatory element of public space, capable of restoring connections between the city and nature; and the local governance, which still shows signs of fragility in the face of the socioenvironmental complexity that defines this metropolitan area. Amidst maps, data, and narratives, an affective geography is also drawn — where the Rio Botas is no longer seen merely as a watercourse, but as a vital trace of memory, resistance, and possibility. By proposing a sensitive and critical territorial reading, this research contributes to the construction of a strategic landscape plan that values naturebased solutions and community protagonism, suggesting new paths for reconnecting the flows of water, the shapes of the city, and the living forces of everyday life in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro.
