Abstract: This research analyzes audio description strategies for Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) for visually impaired individuals. The investigation arose from the need for accessible materials to teach Libras to this group, which faces barriers in accessing Libras content, making a more autonomous teaching-learning process challenging. Furthermore, professionals in education and accessibility who encounter this challenge for the first time also struggle to find examples and guidance for this type of description. The main objective is to analyze how to describe handshapes, one of the phonological parameters of Libras, so they can be used in screen reader
programs. Hand configurations are compositional units of signs with no isolated meaning, which combine simultaneously and sequentially to form signs in the language. The research method adopted includes an exploratory qualitative approach with a single case study. Action research was used, involving two visually impaired students from the Faculty of Letters at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), one of whom participated as a (non-professional) consultant for the audio descriptions, and the other for the final test. The research involved a literature review on inclusive education, public policies, and technical guidelines relevant to
the topic, in addition to a semi-structured interview. The research concludes that a didactic description of hand configuration needs to consider the dynamic nature of language signaling rather than just a static image. An accurate and detailed description of the handshape is essential for effective signing. The resulting descriptions led to a PDF support material that can be used by both students and professionals in the field, as well as educators. Further research is recommended in the field of Libras descriptions, as well as the promotion of knowledge, training, and public policies supporting the inclusion and accessibility of visually and hearing-impaired
individuals.

Abstract: The pursuit of agroecological practices integrated into education has been established as an essential strategy to promote sustainability and contextualized learning. In this context, the Pedagogical Agroforestry System of the Soil Study Group (GESOLO) at the Agricultural School of Jundiaí (EAJ/UFRN) stands out as a social technology proposal, combining teaching, research, and extension in a Living Laboratory. Conducted between March 17, 2024, and December 3, 2024, the research aimed to develop a Participatory Management Plan
(PMP), providing a collaborative approach to integrate theory and practice in an interdisciplinary environment. Grounded in the action research methodology, the study engaged students, technicians, farmers, and faculty in activities such as practical lessons, workshops, discussion circles, short courses, and field days, enabling the co-construction of agroecological solutions tailored to local conditions. Through sustainable practices based on
Nature-Based Solutions (NBS), the Pedagogical Agroforestry System fostered biodiversity conservation, environmental regeneration, and food security, establishing itself as a dynamic space for learning and experimentation. The integration of management practices, such as crop consortia and soil management, with pedagogical principles contributed to meaningful learning and the development of technical and social skills among participants. Among the future proposals is the creation of a lato sensu specialization course in Agroecological Agroforestry Systems, aiming to expand the project's academic impact. In conclusion, the
study highlighted the potential of the Pedagogical Agroforestry System as a replicable model for agroecological transition, aligning agroecology and ecopedagogy in transformative educational practices.

Abstract: Kappaphycus alvarezii is a species of red macroalgae widely cultivated in tropical Asian regions and its market is likely to grow in the coming years. In agriculture, its liquid extract is applied as a biofertilizer. In addition to being an important source of carrageenan, a polysaccharide used in the food industry as a: thickener, emulsifier, gelling agent and a stabilizer. Kappaphycus alvarezii is the starting point of the research and is
inserted in the context of Social Technology applied to crops in the territory of Paraty Mirim (Paraty - RJ) where the Fazenda Escola is located, a partnership between UFRJ and a licensed seaweed farmer in the territory. This dissertation evaluated the Extension Project called “Algicultura na Baía da Ilha Grande” carried out from 2021 to 2023, aiming to train personnel through the extension course “Algicultura e Desenvolvimento
Territorial Sustentável”. The analysis approaches began with the course and it’s entire administration and organization, as well as the impacts caused by this action. The research focused on 5 main aspects: from the point of view of the course as the unfolding of the organization, curriculum and social characterization of those enrolled; from the perspective of the legislation that involves the Union Water Use Assignment, the environmental license and the biofertilizer legislation, what are their impacts, offenders and deadlines; the assessment of Ilha Grande Bay's territory, from historical, geographic, cultural, environmental and temporal perspectives; the analysis of local entrepreneurship and the emergence of new businesses and opportunities; detailing the application of techniques available for cultivation, consolidated solutions and shared technology. The option for the Systematization of Experiences occurred because this methodology is a permanent and cumulative process in the production of knowledge based on experience in a specific reality. The research directs its analysis to the scenario during and after the extension course, demonstrating a significant improvement in the aspects studied, suggesting the consolidation of the production chain and fixing important points on the topic. This research highlighted a heated scenario for Kappaphycus alvarezii in the territory of Ilha Grande Bay, especially after the start of course activities. Overall, there has been a significant movement on algiculture in this region and in Brazil in the last 3 years. As a propositional consideration, the need for more coordinated actions between producers, public authorities and universities is suggested, with the aim of strengthening relationships and facilitating the development of new businesses in the region, in addition to in-depth studies on the topic.

Abstract: This research talk about the Solid Waste Management in Brazil and delves into an analysis of the category of recyclable materials collectors. This research was necessary because there are still many vulnerabilities among this category of workers, even after the legal deadlines for the closure of landfills. This study aimed to analyze the perception of occupational risks among recyclable materials collectors and the relationship between this perception and the working conditions and health of these professionals. The research was conducted through
a case study, involving the application of questionnaires and recorded interviews with collectors from ACAMJG and others linked to MESC, in 2023 and 2024. The responses of the two groups were mirrored in graphs. Each one was critically analyzed, and the answers were collated with each other. The results showed a significant gap in the perception of collectors regarding the risks inherent in their activity. Most of the interviewees were unaware of the health hazards associated with exposure to biological, chemical, and physical agents present in waste, as well as the ergonomic risks arising from collection and sorting activities. The use of personal
protective equipment (PPE) was also low, indicating an underestimation of risks. The data analysis suggests that the lack of risk perception may be related to several factors, such as the naturalization of precarious working conditions, the lack of information and guidance on health and safety, and the very dynamics of the scavenging activity, which requires the performance of repetitive and exhausting tasks in an unhealthy environment. A hypothesis raised by the research is that the denial of risks may be a psychological defense mechanism, allowing collectors to continue to perform their activities in adverse conditions. This hypothesis is
supported by previous studies on risk perception in different occupational contexts, duly cited in the bibliography. Given the results obtained, the research points to the need to implement public policies aimed at improving the working conditions of collectors and promoting their health and safety. Among the measures suggested, the following stand out: the implementation of educational campaigns to inform collectors about health risks and the importance of using PPE; the offer of training courses in occupational health and safety, addressing topics such as ergonomics, first aid, and risk identification; guaranteeing access for collectors to health services, including periodic examinations and medical follow-up; the granting of special retirement for collectors, due to the unhealthy and strenuous nature of their activity. In conclusion, the research demonstrates the importance of considering the perspective of collectors in the formulation of public policies for occupational health and safety issues specific to collectors. By recognizing the risks to which they are exposed and promoting actions to improve their working conditions, it is possible to contribute to the construction of a fairer and safer waste management system that guarantees the good health of recyclable materials collectors.
