Abstract: This research has as its central theme the study of the letters sent by Julio Cortázar to interlocutors at the Casa de las Américas, in Cuba, during the period from 1963 to 1983. This period is considered a decisive milestone in the trajectory of the Argentine writer who, after contact with the Cuban Revolution, transforms many of his ideo-aesthetic paradigms and becomes an intellectual profoundly engaged with the political and social causes of Latin America. Its objective was to identify how the epistolary exchange allowed the writer to create affective networks of intellectual sociability and ideological and political reaffirmation that functioned as a space for debate and as a platform for public intervention in Cuban cultural politics, at a singular moment in continental history. To this end, we sought to understand the main characteristics of the epistolary genre, having as the conceptual foundation of the research the studies by Brigitte Diaz (2016) and Geneviève Haroche-Bouzinac (2016), Nora Esperanza Bouvet (2006), and Ana Maria Barrenechea (1992). To analyze the role of the intellectual and their forms of political engagement, the reflections of Jacques Rancière (1995 and 2007), Pierre Bourdieu (2002), and Jean Paul Sartre (1961, 1994, 1993) were used. To explore the historical context and Cuban cultural politics in the 1960s and 1970s, the studies by Idalia Morejón Arnaiz (2004), Sílvia Cezar Miskulin (2005), and Claudia Gilman (2003) were crucial. From there, Cortázar's epistolar exchange with his interlocutors at the Casa de las Américas was analyzed. In the analysis of the letters, it was verified that the Argentine writer created, through this epistolary exchange, an intimate, affective, but also public territory, where his political and intellectual maturation was forged. The discoveries that were revealed in the course of the research indicated the path to deepen the study of an autobiographical space in the Cortazarian epistolary, now covering themes that were not addressed in this master's research: the correspondence with the interlocutors of the Latin American literary boom; the correspondence with the editors of Cortázar's work; and the correspondence with his translators. Each of these themes relates to different segments of the literary field: creative process and construction of a literary identity; editorial issues; and issues of translation and circulation of the work.; Esta investigación tiene como tema central el estudio de las cartas enviadas por Julio Cortázar a interlocutores en la Casa de las Américas, en Cuba, en el período de 1963 a 1983.

Abstract: This research analyzed the construction of gender roles in Disney's Encanto (2021) from a multimodal perspective, considering the verbal, vocal, and bodily interactions. The study is based on the understanding that audiovisual media acts as a space for the production and circulation of ideologies, especially with regard to gender dynamics. Methodologically, the research adopts a qualitative approach, based on the multimodal analysis of four selected scenes from the film, two featuring female characters and two featuring male characters, in the first version, in the Brazilian Portuguese version, and the Colombian Spanish version. The intonation analysis was developed from the model proposed by Cantero and Mateo (2010; 2011), with an emphasis on the melodic patterns of speech; the quality voice analisis is based on the works of Laver (1980; 1994), considering expressive parameters related to vocal quality; the visual analysis is based on the multimodal analysis of interaction by Mondada (2014; 2016), with an observation of gestures and body postures in the interaction; and the verbal analysis is anchored in the theory of Speech Acts by Searle (1969; 1979) and Vanderveken (1990), enabling the identification and interpretation of the illocutionary acts produced by the characters. The analysis showed that female characters occupy positions of greater narrative prominence, being responsible for the emotional and symbolic conduct of the plot, while male characters tend to present a more secudanry performance, often associated with contexts of expressive containment or narrative non-centrality. The results indicate that Encanto hallenges traditional gender models by shifting symbolic and affective authority to female figures, while at the same time re-signifying masculinity through less hegemonic representations. And the film contributes to the expansion of the debate on gender in children's audiovisual media by proposing a narrative that values the diversity of roles, affections, and identities, articulating specific cultural elements of the Colombian context with contemporary global discourses on family and belonging.; Esta investigación analizó la construcción de los roles de género en la película Encanto (2021), de Disney, desde una perspectiva multimodal, considerando las interaciones verbales, vocales y corporales que estructuran la obra.

      <link>http://hdl.handle.net/11422/29619</link>
      <description>Title: Os prefácios de formação da estética naturalista
Author(s)/Inventor(s): Natividade, Ana Carolina Moraes da
Advisor: Catharina, Pedro Paulo Garcia Ferreira
Abstract: This dissertation examines the prefaces to the earliest French Naturalist novels published&#xD;
between 1865 and 1876, investigating how these paratexts (Genette, 1980) were mobilized by&#xD;
writers to respond to the aesthetic and symbolic disputes within the French literary field&#xD;
(Bourdieu, 1996). In this initial period, when Naturalism was asserting itself in opposition to&#xD;
the still-dominant Romantic and Idealist tradition, critical reactions were intense, prompting&#xD;
authors to expand the accompanying texts of their works and to use them as spaces for self-&#xD;
defense, aesthetic formulation, and contestation of established norms. The proposed corpus&#xD;
comprises six prefaces by different writers: Germinie Lacerteux (1865), by Edmond and Jules&#xD;
de Goncourt; La Confession de Claude (1865), Thérèse Raquin (1867), La Fortune des Rougon&#xD;
(1870), and L’Assommoir (1876), all by Émile Zola; and Marthe, histoire d’une fille (1876), by&#xD;
Joris-Karl Huysmans. The study seeks to understand how these prefaces were used to articulate&#xD;
a break with the Romantic and idealist tradition and to establish Naturalist aesthetic proposals,&#xD;
observing whether the heterogeneity later associated with the movement is already perceptible&#xD;
in its first decade of formation. The aim, therefore, is to grasp the group’s trajectory (Bourdieu,&#xD;
1996) in its phase of constitution as a cénacle (Glinoer &amp; Laisney, 2013), marked by processes&#xD;
of initial accumulation of symbolic capital and by the diversity that justifies the notion of&#xD;
naturalismes (Becker &amp; Dufief, 2017). The results indicate that these prefaces not only outline&#xD;
an aesthetic program but also problematize the novel as a genre and broaden its aesthetic&#xD;
possibilities, while simultaneously revealing an individual justification that relativizes the&#xD;
collective dimension visible in other writings by the group.; Ce mémoire de Master examine les préfaces des premiers romans naturalistes français publiés&#xD;
entre 1865 et 1876, en étudiant comment ces paratextes (Genette, 1980) ont été mobilisés par&#xD;
les écrivains pour répondre aux disputes esthétiques et symboliques du champ littéraire français&#xD;
(Bourdieu, 1996a). Dans cette période initiale, au cours de laquelle le naturalisme s’est affirmé&#xD;
en opposition à la tradition romantique et idéaliste encore dominante, les réactions critiques ont&#xD;
été intenses, ce qui a poussé les auteurs à développer les textes d’accompagnement de leurs&#xD;
œuvres et à les utiliser comme des espaces d’autodéfense, de formulation esthétique et de&#xD;
contestation des normes établies. Le corpus proposé réunit six préfaces de différents écrivains&#xD;
: Germinie Lacerteux (1865), d’Edmond et Jules de Goncourt ; La Confession de Claude (1865),&#xD;
Thérèse Raquin (1867), La Fortune des Rougon (1870) et L’Assommoir (1876), tous d’Émile&#xD;
Zola ; et Marthe, histoire d’une fille (1876), de Joris-Karl Huysmans. Nous avons cherché à&#xD;
comprendre comment ces préfaces ont été utilisées pour configurer la rupture avec la tradition&#xD;
romantique et idéaliste et pour établir les propositions esthétiques naturalistes, en observant si&#xD;
l'hétérogénéité ultérieurement associée au mouvement se manifestait déjà dans sa décennie&#xD;
initiale de formation. L'objectif était ainsi d’appréhender la trajectoire du groupe (Bourdieu,&#xD;
1996) dans sa phase de constitution en tant que cénacle (Glinoer &amp; Laisney, 2013), marquée&#xD;
par des processus d’accumulation initiale de capital symbolique et par la diversité qu’autorise&#xD;
la notion de naturalismes (Becker &amp; Dufief, 2017). Les résultats de la recherche indiquent que&#xD;
ces préfaces ne se contentent pas d’esquisser un programme esthétique ; celles-ci&#xD;
problématisent également le genre romanesque et élargissent ses possibles esthétiques, tout en&#xD;
révélant une justification individuelle qui relativise la dimension collective observable dans&#xD;
d’autres écrits du groupe.

      <title>O ensino de espanhol como língua adicional na escola pública: um recorte cartográfico da realidade docente no Rio de Janeiro</title>

Abstract: This work reflects on the teaching of Spanish as an additional language (a term adopted in this&#xD;
thesis) in public schools, focusing on a specific aspect of teaching practice within the&#xD;
geographical territory of the state of Rio de Janeiro. In this proposal, semi-structured interviews&#xD;
with teachers of Spanish as an additional language, working in different spheres of public&#xD;
education in Rio de Janeiro, contribute to the construction of the corpus of this investigation.&#xD;
Through the cartographic method, aiming at inhabiting the shared existential territory, we&#xD;
position ourselves to research and intervene in the research process throughout the investigative&#xD;
journey. In this perspective, we rely on the cartographic method's guidelines organized by&#xD;
Passos, Kastrup, and Escóssia (2009). In this sense, by tracing the trajectory of the&#xD;
implementation of additional languages in Brazil and relating them to the teaching discourses&#xD;
of teachers of Spanish as an additional language, we understand the existence of a hierarchy of&#xD;
power that is best understood in light of Foucault's (1979) ideas on the exercise of power from&#xD;
a microphysical perspective. The intersections and impacts related to normative developments&#xD;
and their prescriptions, as well as the construction of data built from the emergence of individual&#xD;
and collective subjectivities through interviews, broaden the investigative scope of this&#xD;
research, opening space for new reflections on the driving forces that guide daily teaching&#xD;
practice regarding the teaching of Spanish as an additional language in the context of public&#xD;
schools. The practices show a collective pattern of adaptation, resistance, and creativity&#xD;
manifested in the teacher's daily decisions in contexts of restriction, fostering constant&#xD;
adaptation and creative resistance within a microphysical action of power, Foucault (1979).; Este trabajo reflexiona sobre la enseñanza del español como lengua adicional (término adoptado&#xD;
en esta tesis) en escuelas públicas, centrándose en un aspecto específico de la práctica docente&#xD;
en el territorio geográfico del estado de Río de Janeiro. En esta propuesta, entrevistas&#xD;
semiestructuradas con profesorado de español como lengua adicional, que trabajan en&#xD;
diferentes ámbitos de la educación pública en Río de Janeiro, contribuyen a la construcción del&#xD;
corpus de esta investigación. A través del método cartográfico, con el objetivo de habitar el&#xD;
territorio existencial compartido, nos posicionamos para investigar e intervenir en el proceso&#xD;
de investigación a lo largo de la trayectoria investigativa. En esta perspectiva, nos basamos en&#xD;
las directrices del método cartográfico organizadas por Passos, Kastrup y Escóssia (2009). En&#xD;
este sentido, al rastrear la trayectoria de la implementación de las lenguas adicionales en Brasil&#xD;
y relacionarla con los discursos de enseñanza de los profesores de español como lengua&#xD;
adicional, comprendemos la existencia de una jerarquía de poder que se comprende mejor a la&#xD;
luz de las ideas de Foucault (1979) sobre el ejercicio del poder desde una perspectiva&#xD;
microfísica. Las intersecciones e impactos relacionados con los desarrollos normativos y sus&#xD;
prescripciones, así como la construcción de datos a partir del surgimiento de subjetividades&#xD;
individuales y colectivas mediante entrevistas, amplían el alcance investigativo de esta&#xD;
investigación, abriendo espacio para nuevas reflexiones sobre las fuerzas impulsoras que guían&#xD;
la práctica docente cotidiana en la enseñanza del español como lengua adicional en el contexto&#xD;
de las escuelas públicas. Las prácticas muestran un patrón colectivo de adaptación, resistencia&#xD;
y creatividad que se manifiesta en las decisiones cotidianas del profesorado en contextos de&#xD;
restricción, fomentando la adaptación constante y la resistencia creativa dentro de una acción&#xD;
microfísica de poder (Foucault, 1979).
