It also identifies the motivations and challenges associated with this practice. Objective:To analyze the relationship between information practices and information literacy in the context of artificial intelligence for emotional support. Methodology: This is a descriptive and exploratory study based on a literature review conducted in the Brapci database. Content analysis was used to organize and interpret the selected literature. Results: Features such as accessibility, constant availability, and the absence of judgment encourage the use of these technologies. On the other hand, technical limitations, algorithmic biases, privacy risks, and the lack of critical information literacy emerge as significant challenges. The findings indicate that AI-mediated emotional support is an emerging information practice, closely related to the concept of sense-making, as users turn to digital tools to fill emotional gaps. Conclusions: Information literacy is essential for promoting the critical, ethical, and safe use of artificial intelligence, particularly in contexts of emotional vulnerability.
