Abstract: The purpose of this study was: (a) to use a strategy based on the PSHG model with Physic students working toward a teaching credential in this area, aiming at reorganizing or construct their concepts which did not correspond to the scientific ones; and (b) to evaluate the effects of the strategy through the students’ teaching practice. Took part in the study four Physics students enrolled in Physics Special Didactics, Physics I and II and Supervised Teaching Practice, offered in the first and second semesters of 1991. The strategy was developed in two moments: (a) first to let the Physics students to reorganizing or construct Physics concepts at the senior high school level; and (b) to have them take students from different areas of knowledge, enrolled in the course General Didactics, to build the concepts of Energy and Inertia, using the strategy based on the PSHG model. In the evaluation of the strategy effects, three types of indicators were used: (a) improvement of the Physics students, considering their experience with the strategy as both students and future teachers; (b) their opinions about the process they experienced; and (c) the evaluation of the General Didactics students as to the effects of having been taught the two Physics concepts by the strategy based on the PSHG model, as well as to the application of the strategy in their own areas of knowledge. The results of the study suggested that: (a) the strategy is able to help building concepts not only in Physics but also in other areas of knowledge; and (b) the strategy must be taught in Teacher Preparation Courses, particularly in General Didatics and Supervised Teaching Practice.

Abstract: This study is an invitation to reflect on play which is considered to be a "basic activity" in the area of Children’s Education. As playing is an activity which can be compared to a multi-faceted prism, analysing the theories along whit all their associations, that same nursey teachers have on play, is the subject area that this particular research has shed light on. The study of these ideas associated with play was preceded by a short theoretical journey into the contributions which Psychology (Piaget, Wallon and Vygotsky) and Sociology (Brougere) have offered to this research into child’s play. Pressuposed ideas about the discourse analysis formed the basis for the collection of data and their subsequent analysis. Thus, the theories on play which were influenced by the work of these professionals was given special treatment. The structure of the discourse of the subjects involved in this research, has been organized into five categories, this being the best way to introduce these ideas or associations which also have their awn outlines or subheadings. In its final part, this study proposes the re-thinking of the "place" given to play which according to the staff of the nursery which underwent research, cames between CHAOS and GEOMETRY.

Abstract: The study concerns the importance of the students autoknowledge for the sake of self-achievement. It deals with the presentation of a teaching experience which was developed in five high junior schools in Rio de Janeiro Country with teenagers students. Theoretical support is based on philosophical and educational concepts which come not only from humanism and existencialism but psycho-didactical pressupositions as well as specifically lead to the teaching centralized in the student, according to Carl Rogers learning theory. The analysis of the subjects’opinions - the teenagers students - reveals the way on how the worting skill in Portuguese Language becomes a good and pleasant self exercise - when the students have freedom to create. It also shows us that not always "a pattern failure" means "a content failure". In truth, as the students are led to learn in liberty they will be able to think and write with coherence and criativity.
