Abstract: This work observed the need to contextualize concepts related to the functioning of the&#xD;
human digestive system and to food education, a didactic sequence was produced with&#xD;
investigative activities about nutrition and digestion. The objectives of this didactic tool are to&#xD;
approach and disseminate these themes among the students of High School through&#xD;
investigative tasks, raise awareness about the importance of adequate nutrition and generate&#xD;
reflection on health and nutrition, as well as assisting in learning the digestive system. The&#xD;
didactic sequence provided more encouragement to the students and resulted in more interest,&#xD;
dedication and satisfaction, contributing to the construction of knowledge about the proposed&#xD;
topics. It is imperative to discuss healthy eating with students in a more contextual and&#xD;
effective way so that students understand that the results of a food change will be seen in&#xD;
various aspects of their lives. The product developed in this study offers students a knowledge&#xD;
about food and digestion that enables responsible food choices.

      <title>Desenvolvimento de cartilha didática para o ensino de protozooses na educação básica</title>

Abstract: Protozoans belong to the Protozoa Kingdom and some of them are parasites of different&#xD;
organisms, including humans, causing diseases generically called Protozoosis. Although the&#xD;
study of these diseases is provided in the curriculum of basic education, research indicates&#xD;
insufficient student performance on this topic. The low quality of the didactic material and&#xD;
excessively full of content classes are considered the main causes contributing to this&#xD;
situation. In the present work, five didactic booklets were produced about five main human&#xD;
Protozoosis: Malaria, leishmaniosis, toxoplasmosis, amoebiasis and Chagas disease, with&#xD;
special emphasis on source of infection, symptoms and prophylaxis of these diseases. The&#xD;
functionality of didactic booklets in the students‟ learning was tested in four high school&#xD;
classes of Rio de Janeiro state, through the construction of conceptual maps. Statistical&#xD;
analysis showed that the booklets about toxoplasmosis and malaria contributed significantly&#xD;
to the students' learning, increasing their performance in the construction of conceptual maps.&#xD;
The leishmaniosis booklet contributed to increase students‟ performance, but not in a&#xD;
statistically significant way. In the mirror group, which used the amoebiasis booklet, there&#xD;
was no significant difference between the conceptual maps made after the isolated use of the&#xD;
booklet and made after the standard expositive class, corroborating the efficient performance&#xD;
of the booklet in knowledge retention by students. The results of this work give us the&#xD;
perspective that other Biology content can be approached with the same methodology,&#xD;
providing one more aid tool to the teacher in the classroom.

      <title>Análise comparativa sobre aula teórica e jogo didático para o ensino sobre a diversidade da vida</title>

      <description>Title: Análise comparativa sobre aula teórica e jogo didático para o ensino sobre a diversidade da vida

Abstract: The Biology is a subject present for all high school students as a routine in different ways. All topics included in biology are fundamental for understanding all kinds of phenomena involved in life. One of the biggest problems to study the diversity of life, is the number of living organisms and all their characteristics, their evolutionary origins, and their contributions for the planet and the humanity. In addition, when this theme is touched, many areas need to be explained, including evolution, molecular biology and cellular biology, which makes this subject extremely complex and difficult for the students. Another problem, is that most of the teachers use traditional methodologies, based on theory and exposition, which most of the times are considered unattractive to students. Thus, this work aimed to develop a practical class, based on a table game format, in order to make the diversity of life subject more interesting to the students, and facilitate the comprehension and learning process about the topic. Furthermore, this work has compared the efficacy of a theoretical class and a practical class, using the table game, with both methodologies about the diversity of life. For testing our idea, students from three classes, second grade, from the Colégio Estadual Deputado Pedro Fernandes (State School Deputado Pedro Fernandes) have joined the study. The comparison was made after the students attending both classes, separately and together. It was verified that both methodologies were efficient for the teaching about the diversity of life. However, the table game was more enjoyable, dynamic and interesting for the students.

      <title>Uma proposta de sequência didática investigativa sobre lixo urbano e os impactos à saúde e ao meio ambiente</title>
      <link>http://hdl.handle.net/11422/11106</link>
      <description>Title: Uma proposta de sequência didática investigativa sobre lixo urbano e os impactos à saúde e ao meio ambiente

Abstract: In Brazil, 214,868 tons of urban waste are generated daily, and much of this waste is&#xD;
accumulated in areas unfit to receive it. The improper disposal causes many disturbances,&#xD;
besides the risk of environmental contamination and the spread of diseases, by animals that&#xD;
are attracted in search of food and come to inhabit these places, becoming vectors. Faced with&#xD;
this problem, changes in habits and attitudes of the population can minimize the impacts of&#xD;
garbage on the environment and its effects on health. Thus, this work intends to elaborate a&#xD;
didactic sequence of easy applicability, with an investigative and participative bias for the&#xD;
environmental education and health promotion classes, with an approach of the theme “Urban&#xD;
waste and its impacts”, focused on basic education. This sequence aims to raise awareness on&#xD;
students about the environmental and health issues associated with waste, causing changes in&#xD;
daily habits in waste management and disposal. The project was developed in (06) six stages&#xD;
and had dialogued classes on classification and type of waste, bibliographic and photographic&#xD;
survey of the destination of waste with data collection of the visited place, video exhibitions,&#xD;
confection of informative material and production of a didactic game involving students of the&#xD;
second year of high school of a public school located in the city of São João de Meriti, RJ.&#xD;
The students identified, in school and in public areas of their itinerary, wasteful practices,&#xD;
improper waste management and disposal, leading them to rethink some of their daily&#xD;
practices and propose actions that minimize the problem of urban waste. The students'&#xD;
answers to the questions that guided this study, the performance in the preparation of&#xD;
informative material and the creation of the game, showed that the didactic sequence was able&#xD;
to correspond to the teacher's need to develop a facilitating method, of low cost and easy&#xD;
applicability, being a instrument that can contribute to the literature on the education about&#xD;
urban waste and its impacts on health and the environment.
