| Abstract: | A dissertação analisa a tentativa dos jacobinos brasileiros de legitimar Floriano Peixoto como o maior herói da República brasileira. E defendido que o projeto de mitificar o Marechal apoiou-se na interpretação jacobina da revolta da Armada de 1893 e da morte dele em 1895. A atuação de Floriano Peixoto na revolta e a ligação que os jacobinos estabelecem entre esta e a morte dele justificaria a elevação do Marechal a condição de herói Salvador da Republica brasileira. |
| Abstract: | The dissertation searches the attempt of the Brazilians jacobins to legitimate Floriano Peixoto as the most important hero of the republic, founded in 1889. It will be defended that this project to transform Floriano Peixoto on a myth was supported by his partisans' interpretation about the Revolta da Armada, in 1893 and about his death. His performance during the rebellion and the intimate connection between that one and his death would justify, for the jacobins, the evelation of Floriano to the condition of saving hero of the Brazilian republic. |
