| Abstract: | Neste trabalho, busquei fazer uma brevíssima perspectiva comparada entre a Medicina antiga e moderna, delineando um pano de fundo histórico que julgo pertinente e didático para meu tema principal, que é o uso do garum como remédio na Medicina e Veterinária grecoromana, de forma a apresentar a prática humana de cuidar do outro sob um continuum temporal revelador, tentando demonstrar que nosso atual patamar de conhecimento sobre Medicina é muito recente e que devemos respeito ao legado dos antigos. |
| Abstract: | In this contribution, I seek to provide a very brief comparative perspective between ancient and modern medicine, outlining a historical background that, I believe, is pertinent and didactic for my main theme, which is the use of garum as a medication in ancient medicine and veterinary medicine, presenting the human practice of care under a more revealing time continuum, and attempting to demonstrate that our current level of knowledge about medicine is very recent and that we need to respect the legacy of the ancients. |
