Abstract:	Este artigo discute a relação entre desmatamento e violência na Amazônia Brasileira. Uma discussão conceitual é efetuada, com analogia ao modelo de Turner para explicar fenômeno semelhante durante o processo de colonização do Oeste norte-americano.
Abstract:	This article discusses the relationship between deforestation and violence in the Brazilian Amazon. A conceptual discussion is carried out, using Turner's model as an analogy to explain a similar phenomenon during the colonization of the American West.
