| Abstract: | Tendo como base observações realizadas em peixes provenientes de coletas efetuadas no Lago Dom Helvécio, principal componente do Sistema de Lagos do Parque Florestal do Vale do Rio Doce, MG, um estudo morfológico e etológico da espécie Brycon devillei é apresentado neste trabalho. Os aspectos abordados foram as alterações morfológicas verificadas no corpo, esqueleto cefálico e aparelho digestivo em indivíduos nas fases alevino, jovem e adulto. Mudanças comportamentais e alterações dos hábitos alimentares verificadas durante o crescimento foram analisadas em ambientes naturais e em cativeiro e demonstraram que a espécie em apreço, na fase alevino prefere margens pouco profundas, vivendo em comunidades heterotípicas de peixes de pequeno porte, geralmente alevinos de outras espécies que são predados por ela. O adulto que em ambientes fluviais realiza migrações periódicas, no ambiente lêntico que é o lago Dom Helvécio, movimenta-se nas margens realizando uma migração circular, capturando frutos que caem das árvores, apresentando portanto hábito alimentar frugívoro característico das demais espécies do gênero. |
| Abstract: | Present an analyses of the altertions in the struture, development and feeding habits of the species Brycon devillei Castelnau,1855, from Lago Dom Helvécio wich is part of the system of lakes of the Parque Florestal do Vale do Rio Doce in Minas Gerais. This alterations were: the change from a long narrow body in the young to a broader one in the adult; the change from carnivorous,with canines teeth in the young phase to herbivorous, with molar teeth with tree or more cuspids in the adult. The observations of behavior of this species in Lago Dom Helvécio demonstrated that the young phases prefer shallow margens and live in heterotipic communities of small fishes on wich they feed. The adult,wich migrates in fluvial ambients circles the margens of the lake constantly,proving its equal capacity of adaptation a lentic habitat. |
