Aspectos éticos a partir de uma revisão sistemática da produção acadêmica sobre a obra de Nise da Silveira

Abstract

This master’s dissertation aims to identify and analyze the ethical aspects discussed in academic works that address the contributions and professional practice of psychiatrist Nise da Silveira, through a systematic literature review. Recognized for her humanistic stance and for promoting innovative therapeutic practices in the field of mental health in Brazil, Nise da Silveira broke with the biomedical paradigm, particularly in the treatment of individuals experiencing psychological distress. The research followed the methodological procedures of a systematic review using the PRISMA protocol flowchart, which included the selection of databases, definition of descriptors, inclusion and exclusion criteria, and qualitative analysis of the selected articles. A total of 24 studies were included in this review for meeting the research question; among them, 7 addressed more explicitly the ethical aspects of Nise da Silveira’s work. The databases consulted were SciELO, LILACS, PubMed, Medline, Coleciona SUS, Index Psicologia, EBSCOhost, and BDNEF. The results show that the most recurrent ethical aspects identified in the reviewed works concern the appreciation of human dignity, criticism of asylum-based practices, emphasis on subjectivity, and advocacy for therapeutic approaches centered on the individual. The analysis highlights the transformative role of Nise da Silveira in the field of mental health and reinforces the importance of a humanized and critical ethical perspective in contemporary practices.
