As drogas como temática para um ensino de química orgânica contextualizado

Abstract

This work is the result of my experience as a nurse at the Psychosocial Care Center for Alcohol and Drugs (CAPS-ad III), in the city of Três Rios (RJ) and a Chemistry teacher at the state education network in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Both experiences were in favor of education, especially about drugs. We provide a brief historical contextualization of drugs from antiquity to the mid-19th and 20th centuries, on the occasion of the first prohibitionist laws in Brazil. In the 1970s, drug policies were implemented and worked on within schools until today, mainly after the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC), followed by the New Secondary Education (NEM). The objective of this research was to analyze how the topic of drugs has been addressed in the teaching of organic chemistry and how the topic of drugs appears in the teaching material offered by the state government. To this end, we used the dual measurement instrument, which allowed qualitative and quantitative analysis of the content on this topic in textbooks. The result was that there is an irreducible minimum curriculum that insists on the prohibitionist approach when addressing the topic of drugs. These books provide summarized information about the content of drugs, focusing on the effects and damage to the body, in addition to drug classification, also reinforcing the relationship between drugs and violence and crime. Based on the results and discussion of the present work, a booklet was created with the aim of complementing the content contained in the textbooks and guiding teachers regarding the contextualization of the topic of drugs and the teaching of Organic Chemistry.
