A sustentável leveza do fazer: uma contribuição prática ao conceito de fazer (making) de Tim Ingold, a partir dos trabalhos de Hannah Arendt, Yuk Hui e Davi Kopenawa

Abstract

Aristotle, based on the separation between slave (body) and master (mind), fixed the concept of human life on mere contemplation. Judeo-Christian and Modern-Scientific critiques of Aristotelianism, in defense of the emancipation of the oppressed and human labor as the fulcrum of life, subverted the Aristotelian order, but never abandoned the initial separation between body and mind. Tim Ingold’s concept of making, a new non-dual way of understanding life and work, calls into question the Aristotelian proposition. In this thesis, the Ingoldian proposition is supported by an interdisciplinary study between philosophy and architecture and enriched by the critiques of Yuk Hui, Hannah Arendt, and Davi Kopenawa. More specifically, the oppositions between the following are investigated: a) The conception of life in the West and non-Western ways of living; b) Durable materials (stone, concrete, steel, etc.) and “lightweight” materials (clay, wood, straw, etc.); c) The climate changing and a set of sustainable practices. Finally, the expression “light life” is proposed as a new concept of life and doing based on material lightness and necessary life: the life of everyday life, banished by Aristotle and forgotten by modernity.
