Sobre a prática e teoria da música na antiguidade e a sua consideração na reconstituição do Estásimo I versos 338-344 de Orestes de Eurípides

Abstract

This work is an inquiry of the Stasimon I of the verses 338-344 of the tragedy Orestes (408 B.C.) by Euripides, based on the notion of mousikḗ and the trajectory of music theory of ancient Greek music. Each verse of the papyrus fragment features, in the upper part, the notation of the vocal musical notes, and in the lower half, the Greek text with the notes for the instruments, in alphabetical notation. The verses and the notes are analyzed with the aim of suggesting a possible reconstruction of the first Stasimon. The dialogue between the reconstructed text and ancient music is triggered, from a theoretical point of view, mainly by the concepts of Donald J. Grout, Claude Palisca, Stefan Hagel, Aires Manuel Rodeia dos Reis Pereira, Théodore Reinach, and Martin L. West, in order to understand the type of the musical regarding the fragment of the tragedy in question.
