Corpos em movimento : heterotopias, migração lésbica e a normativa espacial da heterossexualidade compulsória

Abstract

Spatial production is a phenomenon deeply shaped by power relations, socio-structural norms, and social practices that determine which bodily expressions are allowed to experience spatial dynamics, whether in terms of mobility, habitation, belonging, or everyday urban life. In this context, the present study seeks to articulate a Cultural Studies perspective on the relationship between spatial displacement through migration between cities of different sizes, lesbian sexuality, power, and space. Lesbian migration, therefore, represents spatial displacement as a possibility for constructing relationships with a new space. Thus, connecting migration and sexuality opens a field of discussion that moves beyond traditional migration studies and converges with Cultural Studies approaches, as it involves debates on subjectivity and politics that challenge power structures grounded in universal and homogeneous scientific paradigms. This research aims to contribute to the debate on urban spatiality through the lens of the lesbian woman's body and lived experience. Therefore, studies of spatial displacement that take lesbian migration into account challenge scientific homogeneity by questioning universalizing and hegemonic norms and dynamics that shape social and spatial relations.
