“Não Entendeu? A Gente Desenha!”: imagem como informação, diálogo e representações éticas: linguagem visual e facilitação gráfica no INMETRO

Abstract

This thesis depicts Visual Language as a form of communication and Graphic Facilitation as a tool, based on the practice that has been consolidated in the Innovation Laboratory of INMETRO. Being experimental in nature, it is divided into two axes: practical, which presents the process of developing a Graphic Facilitation, its constituent elements, execution flows, and significant examples; and theoretical, which addresses ethical aspects of image representation as discourse and the power of the image as communication; also presents experiences compiled from the literature on experiences in GF and discusses the different dimensions of impact that they caused. The most prominent ethical issues concern the potential of GF as a tool for inclusion and citizenship; the search for the adequate representation of individuals and collectivities, avoiding stereotypes and caricatures; and the forms of interaction in the pursuit of communication or information exchange in a facilitation process. Finally, it presents a series of proposed exercises for the readers to practice their own way of seeing and expressing themselves.
