Intervenções urbanas no bairro do Recife: da cidade mercantil à cidade mercantilizada

Abstract

Present the Bairro do Recife, the city of Recife, state of Pernambuco, in his most forceful aspect of the birthplace of the city - and with it, its harbor - and the interventions of which has been the subject. These interventions help reduce or erase the spaces dating back to its source port district. As a participant in a project period of the history of the place, said producers are definitions of events, decisions and resolutions, in different environments, referred to a similar logic that guides the transformation of the symbolic value of the space and the construction of a "new place", no longer enrolled in the old market town but the new commodified city.
