Abstract

The planning has gained importance in recent decades, justified by efforts to (re) qualify the governance and the complexity of recent public interventions, especially the urban level. Cities, with their expansions began to incorporate new agents, institutions, instruments and practices, most often conflicting, claim, more than ever, as the central focus of attention. This paper seeks to understand some current arrangements that are configured on the concept of sustainable development, the urban model of development and the role of some theorists, the varied identities that end up mobilizing intellectual resources and intervene in various ways, through the technical positioning, with the managers who decide in different levels, to finance urban development. We seek in this paper, understanding the role that some environmental consultants has in the urban policy.
