Abstract

The research was developed based on the need to study the City Statute that established the general guidelines of urban policy, with the purpose of organizing the use, occupation and ownership of urban land in the search for territorial planning and preservation of the environment , resulting in sustainable urban development. The City Statute brings various instruments for city planning, including the Consortium Urban Operations, the Master Plan and the Neighborhood Impact Study. The main objective of this work is to analyze the results of the Urban Operations in Juiz de Fora and to identify the difficulties of applying these instruments due to the complexity of the theme and its applications.
