A influência do espaço na afirmação ou negação da identidade local: um estudo de caso da Favela do Jacarezinho

Abstract

The word favela, historically, has been used in multiple uses. We believe that there is a sociocultural game that is part of a set of strategies of our economic model that tends to legitimize the social mobility of certain individuals or social group. This action manifests itself through the negative impacts caused by the distance and also by the real and symbolic proximity of the social classes in the city space. Thus, this paper aims to highlight the aspects that have contributed to affirm or deny the local identity of favela residents. An approximation was made with a group of residents of the Favela do Jacarezinho involved in the Pre-Vestibular for Neglected and Neglected (PVNC), which constitutes a movement that seeks to achieve a political character of awareness of the exclusionary relations in society, focusing macro and micra, but demarcating the local level as a privileged space of this formation.
