O diretório X500: uma solução para o problema de resolução de endereços no MHS

Abstract

This paper introduces the concepts about System Directories based upon the X-500 CCITT series. The basic concepts are described and the funtional, organizational and information models are introduced. The paper also presents the model of a Distributed Directory System, its behaviour and the corresponding protocols. Finally, the Inter-X project is described which aimsthe generation of an advanced and distributed Message Handing System (MHS) coupled to a standardized Directory System. This Directory System solves the address resolution problem in the MHS system.
