Presents the hashtag #icanhazpdf as an exponent of the use of social networks for sharing of scientific articles and their impact on the exchange and acquisition of articles and journals by academic libraries. It seeks to discuss to what extent the sharing of articles under copyright restrictions may be understood as an act of civil disobedience against the scientific publishing industry for profit.
