Abstract
This transcript is part of the polysemic tra-jectory of Josué Apolônio de Castro (1908-1973), one of the personalities investigated by the research project “UFRJ and the civil--military dictatorship (1964-1985): places of memory and trajectories”, linked to the Institutional Memory Division (DMI) of the Library and Information System (SiBI) of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. The project aims to analyze the trajectory of UFRJ professors who were expelled during the Brazilian dictatorial regime. The objec-tive of this transcription is to present the vi-sion of the young Castro, then completing the medical course at the University of Rio de Janeiro (URJ), currently UFRJ, regarding themes envisioned after an international trip, such as, for example, Ibero America-nism, journalism, literature and science in Latin America, in a comparative focus be-tween the Brazilian, Argentinean and Uru-guayan realities. The interview is stored in the National Library Foundation’s Digital Hemeroteca and was transcribed by one of the project’s members, with the help of the action coordinator.
