| Abstract: | O objetivo do estudo foi analisar o conhecimento da equipe multiprofissional de uma Unidade Neonatal sobre as práticas assistenciais associadas ao Método Canguru. Pesquisa descritiva, exploratória, com abordagem quantitativa, que ocorreu no período de abril a agosto de 2018 com 77 profissionais da Unidade Neonatal de uma Maternidade do Rio de Janeiro. A maioria dos profissionais concordou com as afirmativas apresentadas sobre o Método Canguru, porém identificaram-se algumas discordâncias, como: 10,4% discordaram que gestantes de risco fazem parte da população atendida; 36,4% discordaram do peso mínimo do recém-nascido necessário para ingressar na terceira etapa. Os profissionais de saúde, de maneira geral, possuem conhecimento sobre as três etapas do Método Canguru, o que possibilita um incremento à assistência neonatal. Entretanto, existem algumas divergências que devem ser discutidas em programas de educação permanente para capacitação da equipe. |
| Abstract: | The objective of the study was to analyze the knowledge of the multiprofessional team of a Neonatal Unit about care practices associated with the Kangaroo Method. Descriptive, exploratory research, with a quantitative pproach, which took place from April to August 2018 with 77 professionals from the Neonatal Unit of a Maternity Hospital in Rio de Janeiro. Most professionals agreed with the statements presented about the Kangaroo Method, but some disagreements were identified, such as: 10.4% disagreed that pregnant women at risk are part of the population served; 36.4% disagreed with the minimum newborn weight needed to enter the third stage. Health professionals, in general, have knowledge about the three stages of the Kangaroo Method, which allows an increase in care neonatal. However, there are some divergences that should be discussed in permanent education programs for staff training. |
