| Abstract: | Esta dissertação pretende verificar a permanência da linguagem expressionista na xilogravura brasileira, e o modo como se dá esta permanência. Para isto serão estudadas as diversas definições do Expressionismo como linguagem plástica na Arte Moderna; a xilogravura como meio de expressão ao longo da História da Arte; sua evolução até a xilogravura expressionista na Alemanha nos primeiros anos do século XX. Em seguida abordará a xilogravura no Brasil, desde o seu surgimento no século XIX, seu desenvolvimento como manifestação artística autônoma com o Modernismo após a Semana de Arte Moderna de 22, através dos primeiros artistas xilógrafos: Lasar Segall, Oswaldo Goeldi e Lívio Abramo. Após isto, estudam-se os xilógrafos de gerações posteriores, influenciados pelos pioneiros, dentro da linguagem expressionista, que manifestam-se com propósitos políticos e sociais ou autônomos, pessoais em sua linguagem plástica até os anos 70. Observa-se então, a persistência de uma linguagem expressionista na xilogravura, com amplas expressões individuais, presentes até a atualidade. |
| Abstract: | This dissertation intends to verify the permanency of the expressionist language in the brasilian woodcut, the way it happens as a constant trend in brazilian modem print. It will be studied the varied definitions of Expressionism as language in Modem Art; the woodcut as artistic expression in History; it's evolution until german expressionist woodcut in first years of XXth century. Afterwards it will be approached the woodcut in Brazil, since it's begining, it's development as autonomous artistic manifestation after Modem Art Week in 1922, through the first woodcuters: Lasar Segall, Oswaldo Goeldi and Lívio Abramo. Later it will be studied the posteriors generations of expressionist woodcutters influenced by pioneers, which works manifested socio-political purposes or autonomous, with personal language until 70's. It will be observed the persistency of a expressionist language in woodcut with large personal manifestations, until today. |
