| Abstract: | Tanques de armazenamento são equipamentos de extrema importância nas unidades de processamento de petróleo e derivados. Um dos tipos de tanque de armazenamento mais utilizados é o tanque cilíndrico vertical com teto flutuante externo. Esses tetos são estruturas formadas por chapas finas de aço, que são sustentadas pela superfície do produto armazenado no tanque durante a operação. Não há muita atenção ao projeto dessas estruturas e a análise de dados de tetos existentes indicou que poderia ser possível a redução do peso total do teto através de estudos mais aprofundados. A redução de peso de aço é significativa para o custo total desses equipamentos, visto que podem chegar a ter 100 metros de diâmetro. Essa foi a motivação para este trabalho, que teve como objetivo a otimização estrutural de tetos flutuantes do tipo pontão. Os resultados apresentados visam a auxiliar no dimensionamento dos tetos durante a fase inicial de projeto. |
| Abstract: | Storage tanks are logistically important in oil processing units. One of the most widely used types of storage tank is the vertical cylindrical tank with external floating roof. Thin steel plates form these structures, which float directly on the product stored in the tank. There is not much design data regarding floating roofs and data analysis of the existing ones indicated that structural weight might be reduced and need further studies. Steel weight reduction can significantly decrease equipment’s cost, since some floating roofs have 100 meters of diameter. Motivated by diminishing structural weight, this work aims to optimize the structure of pontoon floating roofs. The results achieved may help floating roof’s initial design. |
