dc.description.abstractIn this thesis, the formulation of a finite element to resolve thick and thin shells is presented. A quadratic degenerate tridimensional isoparametric element is considered. In the computation of thick shells, shear strains are taken into account while a "reduced" numeric integrated scheme is used for thin shells. One of the characteristics of the element is its convergence for any mesh of few elements. An automatic program was prepared in order to solve thick and thin shells considering different types of loads. Several such examples are included.pt_BR

dc.description.resumoSe presenta la formulación de un elemento finito para resolver cásraras gruesas y finas. El elemento en cuestión, es un elemento isoparamétrico tridimensional degenerado cuadrático. En el cálculo de las cáscaras gruesas, son tenidas en cuenta las deformaciones por corte, y para las finas, se presenta un esquema de integración, llamada “reducida”. Una característica del elemento, es el de convergir con mallas de muy pocos elementos. Tambión se preparó un programa automático, capaz de resolver cáscaras gruesas y finas, considerando diferentes tipos de cargamentos. Por último, para testar el programa, se calcularon diversas cáscaras.pt_BR
