A evolução histórica do Laboratório de Paleoinvertebrados do Departamento de Geologia e Paleontologia do Museu Nacional

Abstract

Written in a direct and objective way, complemented by abundant photographic documentation, the authors present data regarding both the creation and the historical evolution of the Paleoinvertebrates Laboratory of the Department of Geology and Paleontology of the National Museum/UFRJ. The gathering of all this data constitutes an important source of consultation for those who wish to know a little about the creation and evolution of a research laboratory – important not only for its scientific publications, developed research projects and guided students, but for the main focus of the work, the people, the human beings who, over time, allowed all these achievements. Data about the occupation of different spaces over time are also presented, due to the fact that it occupies a historic building, shared with several other laboratories and scientific, educational and cultural activities, data that would surely be lost over time if they were not found a record as comprehensive and detailed as the one presented.
