| Abstract: | A análise fractal é um método matemático utilizado para quantificar a complexidade estrutural de padrões biológicos. Tem sido amplamente aplicada na avaliação da microarquitetura óssea em imagens radiográficas. O método baseia-se no cálculo da dimensão fractal (DF), um parâmetro numérico que representa o grau de complexidade geométrica da estrutura analisada. Este manual tem como objetivo difundir a técnica, apresentando de forma sistematizada os princípios teóricos e os procedimentos metodológicos necessários para sua aplicação em pesquisas. |
| Abstract: | Fractal analysis is a mathematical method used to quantify the structural complexity of biological patterns. It has been widely applied in the evaluation of bone microarchitecture in radiographic images. The method is based on the calculation of the fractal dimension (FD), a numerical parameter that represents the degree of geometric complexity of the structure. This manual aims to disseminate the technique, presenting in a systematic way the theoretical principles and methodological procedures necessary for its application in research. |
