A proteção do patrimônio cultural e a política urbana na cidade do Rio de Janeiro: a Área de Proteção do Patrimônio Cultural (APAC) de Marechal Hermes

Abstract

Analyze public policies to preserve the historical and cultural heritage from its inclusion in the Rio urban planning by defining Areas of the Cultural Environment Protection (APAC) in the Plan Municipal Director of Rio de Janeiro 1992 and maintained in its review conducted in 2011. Assuming that Rio de Janeiro is cleaved and that the programs and activities of urban improvement are unevenly distributed across neighborhoods, we intend to verify the possibilities and limitations of the progressive movement of recognition and appreciation of cultural outlying areas of the city considering the role that social memory and collective purchase today as part of the construction of citizenship.
