Parcelamento do uso do solo através da produção de loteamentos na periferia metropolitana do Rio de Janeiro: o caso de Queimados

Abstract

The study theme of this work consecrated itself to the analysis of one of the most striking aspects of the spatial configuration of the periphery of the great Brazilian metropolises: the allotments. Real estate speculation and the ineffectiveness of an urban land policy have contributed to the fact that allotments on the periphery of large urban centers become one of the few housing alternatives for a huge mass of low-income workers. The municipality of Queimados, in which this work is proposed, is largely characterized as a typical area for the development of these popular settlements, and the choice of this socio-spatial reality is predominantly due to an experience and an empirical knowledge.
