Do caos à lama: o caso da moradia "invisível" da Comunidade Peito Roxo

Abstract

The paper deals with the question of the precariousness of access to housing in Brazil by the social strata of the dispossessed. Thus, we try to sketch in this essay some questions about the construction of the urban space, which is the scene where the conflicting social conflicts between classes who live it and oppose it, making it a "field of struggle". These are the elite - represented here by the most diverse actors and social agents, such as the State, real estate developers, land developers, and others. , on the other side, the popular class struggling to enter the city and imposing its right to use and belong to the city. In this context, the Peito Roxo community was studied, located in the district of Ilha de Guaratiba, west zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro, which houses the various brands of socio-spatial segregation. Its inhabitants live in the most diverse social dramas, characterized by the deficiency in remaining in the mangrove invaded and by the precariousness of the erected buildings, which contributes to what we call invisible dwellings, because they are disconnected and disarticulated of the networks of water, electric energy, infrastructure and especially because they are invisible to the rule of law.
