Cinema, memória e identidade

Abstract

The work is an analysis that adds the importance of the study of cinematographic documents for the advancement of the research on the urban space. It tries to demonstrate how it is possible to base this method, in that the use of visual documentation is present in the most diverse researches in the area of ​​human science. It denotes the relation that is made of visual collections with the representation of space and its consequences. Complementing the analysis, three banks of distinctive cinematographic images with Brazilian cinema films, fragments of Tv Tupi reporting and a selection of national agency films were used for practical comparison of the proposed issues.
