Resumo

The synchronization phenomenon is present in many natural systems, participating of physical, chemical and biological processes. This collective behavior of dynamical systems displays diverse patterns which depends of the coupling kind in the system. The present work investigates the synchronization process in a mechanical system compound of 3 pendulum-charts system coupled. Numerical simulation permit evaluates how initial conditions and the system parameters interfere in the formation of synchronized state and what kinds of synchronized patterns emerge of the system. The identification of each kind of behavior is evaluated from a temporal series response, defining the synchrony degree and permitting the interpretation about the chimera state formation, state which combine aspects of synchronized and desynchronized behaviors simultaneously. An analyze based on the energy flux among the oscillators is proposed to distingue any synchronized state from a desynchronized and the chimera state. Based on this energy flux distribution and its relation with the collective behaviors is proposed a hypothesis for the formation of the chimera state. The analysis of the robustness of dynamical patterns shows the response of the chimera state under the influence of random components in the excitation and dissipation which support the energy hypothesis.
