Abstract

Pan American Games are a continental version of the Olympic Games, which features all the sports of the Olympic Program and others not disputed in the Olympics. The main objective of the games is to benefit the city of Rio de Janeiro as a whole and not just another neighborhood, in addition to making it more competitive to compete in the 2016 Olympics. The city receives investments for the environment, transportation public, for urban restructuring, education, sports and technology, generating strong economic and social growth for the city.
