Resumo

This work presents a study of the static and dynamic behaviour of the cascaded doubly fed induction machine (CDFIM). The vector control referred to the direction of the stator flux is studied. To this end, a prototype for experimental verification was constructed. This prototype consists of two wound rotor induction machines connected in cascade, a back-to-back converter comprising two IGBT bridges, a digital signal processor, a data acquisition and signal conditioning system, and a motor/converter for load simulation. For the dynamic study, the CDFIM vector control technique has been divided into three control loops: current, speed and power. Simulations are used to study the control system behaviour when submitted to typical tests such as speed and electromagnetic torque variation. The speed and power control loops are applied to a wind generator system with maximum power point tracking (MPPT) for speed and active power reference, respectively. Finally, experimental results corresponding to every control loop of the CDFIM are presented, validating the dynamic behaviour and the test bench.
