Resumo

This work presents an experimental research of fire retardancy properties of polymers reinforced with glass fibers (PRFV), manufactured by pultrusion. In particular, a flammability data approach was used as ignition time, oxygen limit rate and heat rate as parameters for the elaboration of a PRF fire scale evaluation system. The internal combustion materials were developed by sterile-bisphenol-A matrices, thermal and phenolic insulation, all components superior and inferior to electrical conductivity. The three fire protection systems were tested: alumina trihydrate (ATH), decabromodiphenyl ether (DBDE) and antimony trioxide (Sb2O3). The fire reaction tests were performed with the objective of investigating a combination of ATH and DBDE, which could have been "additives", "antagonistic" or "synergistic" in the fire properties of the PRGFs studied in this work. In addition, the influence of the ATH concentration on flame retardant properties was also evaluated. The results were compared with an ATH in 47.75% to 80%. All types of inflation demonstration do not have CCPM and UL-94, being their better reaction properties, besides being free of halogen.
