Resumo

This work aims to model the consolidation process of saturated poroelastic media, under the light of Biot's theory, through the coupling of meshless methods. The proposed approach consists of solving each phase of the phenomenon independently within each time interval, by using the Local Petrov Galerkin Method (MLPG) for the elastic medium and the Fundamental Solutions Method (MSF) with the Dual Reciprocity Method (DRM) for the incompressible fluid medium. Numerically, the coupling takes place in an iterative way through the exchange of poropressures and volumetric stress until the convergence is reached and the process can continue to be developed over time. To validate the proposed technique, four numerical examples were studied, in such a way that particularities arising from each methodology could be evaluated.
