Resumo
Social media has changed people's lives and become regular in our lives. Influential voices are either to promote a product, a service, or just to keep up with the latest news. These online digital elements open up a good number of opportunities for libraries. Using social tools libraries can strengthen the relationship between their users / clients. Digital social networks can bring library products and services to thousands of different users / customers, regardless of geographic location. Thus, with the awareness that every library has the duty to serve two (2) types of users: face-to-face and remote, the university library of the Institute of Urban and Regional Planning and Research (IPPUR) of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro ( UFRJ) - IPPUR Library/UFRJ - created the IPPUR 2.0 Library Project - a digital reference service that has its products and services directed to information and education of users/clients. Thus, the library instituted in its day to day work the digital social networks: Blogs, Facebook, Twitter and Youtube. However, it is important and necessary to plan and justify the deployment and use of 2.0 technologies in libraries. Therefore, one should also be alert to metrics and monitoring. This work seeks to guide other libraries and information professionals the creation, maintenance, metrics and monitoring from a literature review on the subject and in conjunction with experiences consolidated by years of use of these online social resources.
