Reserva Biológica do Tinguá: um caminhar sobre gelo fino: estudo de caso sobre uma experiência conflituosa de gestão compartilhada

Abstract

The Tinguá Biological Reserve constitutes a relevant fragment of the existing Atlantic Forest in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Its importance stems, among other factors, from the excellent state of conservation as well as the ecological and environmental services that this conservation unit provides. However, the REBIO do Tinguá faces daily different types of anthropic pressures: invasions, illegal tourism, vegetal extraction, predatory hunting, etc. The paper reports the attempt to jointly manage a federal conservation unit in 1998 and discuss the process of shared management of protected areas.
