As perspectivas comparadas das políticas externas e de defesa dos Estado Unidos e da Rússia diante do conflito na Síria entre 2011-2019

Abstract

The theme of this dissertation is the relationship between the Defense Policy and Foreign Policy of the United States and Russia, in their actions in the civil war in Syria. The period chosen was the 2010s, more specifically between 2011 and 2019 in view of the start of the conflict. In this sense, the general objective is to demonstrate the coordination between the respective strategic policies, in favor of US and Russian interests in the Middle East. The idea is that the different positions of these countries in Syria are based on different internal and external variables that condition the actions of the states in the context of the strategic interests of the United States and Russia in the region during the period studied. The aim is to make a comparative analysis of the composition and formation of each country's Foreign and Defense Policy, as well as a comparison of their actions in the Syrian case.
