Pré-natal psicológico às gestantes com diagnóstico de malformação fetal: fissura labiopalatina

Abstract

This work is a narrative review that aims to weave a theoretical-clinical reflection on the psychological monitoring of pregnant women whose babies were diagnosed with orofacial malformation, in particular, cleft lip and palate. To that end, I use my experience as a psychologist at the Center for Rehabilitation and Congenital Anomalies of the Face, located in the municipality of Campos dos Goytacazes, where I attended in the period of two years five pregnant women, parents and relatives of the babies. These attendances occurred from prenatal to puerperium. The initial reactions presented by these pregnant women were negative in the diagnosis of fetal malformation. And from the listening and receiving during the prenatal psychological, they changed their perceptions of the malformation of the child, becoming more positive and healthy after birth.
