Transformações morfológicas no bairro de Mãe Luíza

Abstract

This work seeks to verify the morphological transformations in soil use in the neighborhood of. In the city of Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. This study led us to conclude that, despite the transformations that occurred in the neighborhood resulting from the action of the government, which gave it physical characteristics at the time already considered peculiar to a popular neighborhood, it had a population with socioeconomic peculiarities typical of favela residents. Another important point to consider was the verification, through the analysis of localized plans, that the special areas of tourism and preservation that surround said neighborhood were the real reasons for the interventions in it. The intention was to control the growth of this space and to harmonize it with the sophisticated area of tourism that they intended to implant.
