Estudo de membranas elásticas quadradas suportadas pelos vértices

Abstract

Study the behaviour of an elastic square membrane supported by the vertex, under the action of uniform loads. The mathematical formulation of the problem is set down, followed by the description of the experiment with a model built in one of COPPE'S laboratory. The results of deflection and stresses on several points of the membrane are shown and analysed through the Theory of Elasticity. It is also presented an easy way to find the longitudinal modulus of elasticity of the membrane material through laboratory experiments and it is plotted a strain-stress curve of this material.
