Resumo
Voltage control at bulk transmission networks have been through growing challenges and complexities, as the ones caused by network expansion, connection energy renewable resources and new ancillary markets implementation which provide reactive power to the system, aiming the quality maintenance of energy delivered to users. One of the possible means to simplify the voltage control studies and the network operation is to divide the network in small, coherent areas. This dissertation proposes to use the electrical distance concept among buses to identify the voltage control areas and which buses best represent the voltage area behavior, or the pilot buses. In order to validate the concept used, the obtained results of the developed application on test systems will be compared to another studies, which uses other methods to separate the voltage areas. After, the electrical distance concept will be used to segregate the Southeastern Regional Network of Brazilian Interconnected Power System, expected to 2020.
